December Update

NGC 7331 Spiral Galaxy and the smaller galaxies next to it form the Deer Lick Group

Rosette Nebula (NGC 2244) in Hubble color palette

October Astrophotographs

Two new space photos! Five hours of data was collected for each of them. Both of these nebula are places where new stars are formed.

Cocoon Nebula (IC 5146)

Elephant's Trunk Nebula (IC 1396)

September: Climbing Mount Shuksan, Washington

August 7—8: Veil Nebula Shooting

Photographed Eastern Veil Nebula on a camping trip in Sierra National Forest.

July: Testing new astro camera

I took these photos on my backyard with my new ASI 2600MM Pro monochrome astrophotography camera.

A Trip to Yosemite

February 21

More astrophoto fun from a weekend camping trip nearby! I processed these quickly with Astro Pixel Processor, which seems like a great program!

M31 (Andromeda)

Leo’s Triplet

Markarian’s Chain

These intermediate processing step versions, after stacking but before doing any corrections, are kind of cool :)

February 6

More astrophotographs! This time I was using a guide scope, which means I can take longer exposures.

Some Astrophotographs, Jan 17-18

I went camping with my telescope outside the town. These are all shot with an 80mm refractor telescope and Canon 80D camera.

Crab Nebula

Crab nebula is an exploded star. It is fairly faint (magnitude 8.4) and small.

Whirlpool Galaxy and it's Friend

Whirlpool galaxy is a spiral galaxy with two arms. They are easy to recognize even in this pretty small and faint picture. It also has a small companion galaxy which is circling it.
